Kantara’s Varaha Roopam officially back in the film after plagiarism row

The makers of Kantara had to remove the song from their official YouTube channel following a court order after Kerala-based music band Thaikkudam Bridge filed a petition at Kozhikode sessions court, stating that the song was a copy of their original composition Navarasam.

Kantara’s most popular and loved song, Varaha Roopam, is now officially back in the film. Amidst the dispute, now the song is available for listeners to enjoy. 

The makers had to remove the song from their official YouTube channel following a court order after Kerala-based music band Thaikkudam Bridge filed a petition at Kozhikode sessions court, stating that the song was a copy of their original composition Navarasam.

Following this, the copyright owner Mathrubhumi Printing and Publishing Company Limited, won an order from Palakkad Principal District and Sessions Court on November 2. Notices were then issued to ‘barring exhibiting, streaming, distributing or communicating to the public the song until further orders’.

However, now all the cases against the film have been dissolved and Kantara’s storyline has been spreading like a wildfire and the audience around all quarters seem to be loving it. The movie has completed 50 days and is still running in 1000+ screens globally. The film has completed 50 days in Australia, the UK, Canada, UAE, and the USA as well. In India, the movie is still being played across 900+ screens.
