Prescribed burns cause smoke in South Brevard

Two prescribed burns are creating smokey conditions in South Brevard Wednesday.. 

A 300-acre burn near Kempfer Road and State Road 192 in West Melbourne is causing large plumes of smoke visible for miles, according to Florida Fire Service. 

Another large burn is taking place at the Sebastian Preserve in Indian River County, officials said. Approximately 530 acres of burns will cause visible smoke in southern Brevard County.
