Sierra Nevada Brewing Company put out a call to all breweries across the United States to make its Resilience Butte County Proud IPA, proceeds from which will go to victims.

“I've got lots of friends and family in California,” said Tom Albright, owner and head brewer of Out.Haus Ales in Northwood.

Albright said it was an easy choice to volunteer to help, especially because one of his friends from the Army was directly affected by the wildfire.

“He was on his way to (an Army hospital unit) reunion when got called to let him know that he no longer had a job because his hospital burned down,” he said.

Albright said the Resilience IPA is similar to his IPA.

“I'll have them on tap right next to each other,” he said.

Mark Valeriani, lead innovation brewer at Cisco Brewers Portsmouth, describes it as a “classic old school ‘90s IPA.”

“A little more caramel malt forward than you typically see now,” Valeriani said. “Definitely not going to be a hazy beer.”

It's going to be a couple of weeks until the beer is ready to drink, but once it is, it will be available here in Cisco’s Portsmouth pub.

“We're targeting around probably the 13th, 14th of December,” Valeriani said.

Great North Aleworks in Manchester teamed up with Backyard Brewing to make the beer.

“We're going to split the batch and they're going to take half of it and sell it at their taproom, and we'll sell the other half here,” said owner Rob North.

The limited edition brew will also be available at Monadnock Brewing Company in Langdon, the Copper Pig Brewery in Lancaster, Bad Lab Beer in Somersworth, Schilling Beer Company in Littleton and Deciduous Brewing Company in Newmarket.

All proceeds from every pour will help people in California rebuild their communities.

“We feel just honored to be a part of it and lucky enough to have room in our brew calendar to make it happen,” North said.

“I love making beer, and to turn that into something that's going to raise money for people who have lost everything, it feels pretty good,” Valeriani said.
