A holidaymaker’s death following an accident in a popular resort is being investigated by police.

Cameron Russell, 20, was in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria, when tragedy struck.

The much-loved digger driver – nicknamed Buff – was rushed to hospital after an incident on Thursday close to the Chaika Beach Hotel. He could not be saved by medical staff and died the following morning.

It is understood his parents, Andy and Pam, have left their home in Dalry, Ayrshire, to travel to the tourist spot on the Black Sea.

An investigation by police in Bulgaria was continuing last night.

One source said they will examine claims Cameron fell from a balcony shortly before he died.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office confirmed they were also involved and liaising with his family.

Cameron travelled to Sunny Beach with 18 of his friends.
